International Steel Market Daily: Russia approves proposal to increase export tariffs on scrap steel.(2022.4.1)

Mysteel understands that the Russian Ministry of Economic Development announced on 31 March local time that the Customs Duties Sub-Committee supported a proposal by the Ministry of Industry and Trade to increase export duties on black scrap that exceeds the tariff quota.

According to the relevant content of the proposal,≤810,000 ton,tariff remain 100 euros per ton, ≥810,000 ton, tariff increase to 290 euros per ton.

Mysteel tracking data shows that in January 2022, Russia increased its scrap export tariff from €70/t to €100/t.
