For April, Japan's newly-launched non-timber buildings grew 16% on year to 7.08 million sq m, according to the latest statistics released by the country's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT). Market sources believed that the growth indicates firm demand for construction steel, but actual deliveries might be delayed amid the remaining uncertainties.
